Manvir Singh Arrested: Semi-Truck Driver Charged in Fatal Highway 99 Crash in Lodi

A traffic accident on Tampines Expressway caused major congestion today for motorists traveling toward the Pan Island Expressway, with delays extending across several connecting routes including the Kallang–Paya Lebar Expressway and areas near the East Coast Parkway interchange.

The crash reportedly occurred during a peak commuting period when traffic volumes were already heavy across Singapore’s expressway network. Following the incident, partially blocked lanes caused traffic to slow rapidly, resulting in long queues and significant travel delays. Some motorists reported congestion stretching back toward Punggol Road.

Initial reports suggest multiple vehicles may have been involved, though authorities had not yet officially confirmed the number of vehicles or whether any injuries occurred. Emergency response teams, including traffic police and highway recovery crews, were dispatched to manage the scene, assist affected motorists, and begin clearing damaged vehicles and roadway debris.

Drivers heading toward the PIE experienced some of the most severe delays as traffic was funneled through fewer open lanes. Stop-and-go conditions quickly spread to nearby interchanges and feeder roads, creating wider disruptions across the eastern and northeastern parts of Singapore.

Recovery operations continued as crews worked to reopen affected lanes and restore normal traffic flow. Traffic police also implemented lane control measures to maintain safety while emergency personnel operated along the expressway.

Authorities are expected to review traffic camera footage and any available dashcam recordings as part of efforts to determine the exact cause and sequence of events leading to the collision. At the time of reporting, no official details regarding injuries or contributing factors had been released.
